Our Story
Welcome to Katmandu
More Than an RV Park. A Destination.
Katmandu RV Park has been part of the Sturgis camping scene since 1985, sitting in a quiet valley off Exit 34 on I-90. In October 2023, Brent and Lynette Larson took over the park, and they live nearby in the Black Hills themselves. Since then, they've worked to open the campground up beyond its original reputation as strictly a Sturgis Rally stop, building it into a seasonal destination for families, retirees, and travelers passing through the area all summer long.
Today, Katmandu offers 331 sites across full hookup RV spots, tent camping, cabins, and a 5-bedroom vacation home, so groups of almost any size can find a place to stay. The grounds include a shower house with private stalls, on-site laundry, a full bar, hiking trails, a playground, and direct access to local UTV trails, all within a mile of the property.
The Larsons and their team continue to invest in improvements season after season, with help from friends and family who've made Katmandu part of their own routine. Whether you're here for one night during the rally or settling in for the summer, the goal is the same: a clean, welcoming park where the basics are taken care of. We look forward to hosting your stay here in beautiful South Dakota!
